Food will contribute to your well-being or kill you!

Dec 30, 2020

Over the past few months, I've talked about different aspects of health, like exercise and stretching and breathing and sleep - all these good things.

And for the most part for me personally, I do pretty well with that. I sleep very well. I'm blessed that way. I exercise regularly, I'm able to get outside and be in the sun for half an hour, I meditate, and all that sort of stuff. But what isn't great, is my food intake.

Food will contribute to your well-being, or it'll kill you! Simple as that.

Now I do some things right around food. I eat three meals a day. There's about three hours between my last meal and sleep. I don't eat any fast food. I occasionally eat processed food, but that's usually because I'm lazy.

My meals are easy and quick and convenient, but they're not the most nutritionally healthy. I tend to lack variety in my diet and I eat too much sugar.

So what is it that I want? I want to eat healthy, delicious food. A good variety. I want it to be quick and easy and very convenient. And, I want to eat less of it.

I am committing to changing my eating habits, behaviors, intake, all of that - over this next year, which is right down the street - two days from now!

This is a big commitment for me. Think about what it takes to make such a big lifestyle change with something like eating, which is so integral to who we are. It requires planning. It requires finding recipes. What foods do you want to eat at each of these meals? How are you going to prepare them? What do you need to do? What ingredients do you need to have on hand? How are you going to store it? And can you make enough so that you can have that meal for more than one time?

So what do I need to get through this next year? I need patience. I need forgiveness, because there'll be times when I want to eat some of my favorite foods that haven't really particularly been serving me, but that's okay.

I need to have a goal. I'm heading right up here - but I'm going to go like this... it's going to be up and down, up and down, up and down, and eventually I'll get there.

Why do I feel like this is the best time in my life to do this?

Well, there is no other time, except right now, which is the best time. But also I know that as I'm getting older, I need to feel my best. I need to have good energy. I need to be able to have my body systems work properly. My nervous system, my endocrine system, all of that.

The only way to do that is to eat healthy food. Now you may be in a similar situation where you want to change your eating patterns, or at least make some changes to what you eat. You may want to take this journey with me, maybe not for the whole year, but from time to time over the next few months.

After the first of the year, I'm going to be offering some free webinars that address some of these issues:

  • How can we make food that's easy and convenient?
  • How do we plan meals?
  • How do we store it?
  • How do we how do we make it delicious?

I'm going to be giving more information on that in my next video. I'll give you some information about what's coming up, and, if you're interested, how you can sign up for it.

Thank you and have a great New Year!
