Is how you manage your health, living up to your expectations?

You have, no doubt, been given a lot of information on what to do and maybe some strategies to implement those changes. The thing is, these are really big changes. There is no shortcut, or hack that leads to ‘permanent’ change. Why? Because change requires commitment, motivation and dedication.

Today, I’m addressing Levels of Transformation, developed by Linda Frazee and used with permission here. There are 7 levels. The first level is DENIAL. People at this level are totally unaware of who they are, who they could be and the possibilities available to them. Sometimes, when someone is diagnosed with a chronic illness, they immediately go into denial. Often, they stay there. They might refuse to make any change to their lifestyle. They might even refuse to believe they have a chronic illness. Or, if there is a family history of this particular chronic illness that didn’t go well for other family members, they may give up and not even try to make their health better.

When people are in denial, they live in fear and apathy, never allowing themselves to realize they have a choice to think and feel differently. It also takes work to stay in denial. That means avoiding feeling their feelings, continuing to eat food that makes them feel bad, live with poor sleep and aches and pains from not moving their bodies.

If you are a person who does not believe you are capable of taking responsibility for your life, then you should stay on the path you are on. But, if you really want to do the work to make your health and life better, stay tuned. Next up, AWARENESS!
