The Best Way To Detox Your Body? Clean Out Your Pantry and Fridge!

Apr 28, 2021

Why do we want to detox our body anyway? Because we feel tired. We feel heavy. We feel unmotivated, gassy, bloated, and perhaps some joint pain. A lot of these symptoms come from what we are eating and what a lot of us are eating are fast foods, convenience food, processed food, and packaged food.

Now these foods, many of them contain preservatives and artificial flavorings and coloring and a lot of ingredients with long names that we don't really know what they are.

These particular things are put into food in order to increase their shelf life. So that means that this food can sit on the shelf for six months or a year or year and a half or two years. I mean, can you imagine?

The other thing they contain is something called the 'bliss point'. It's that perfect combination of fat, sugar, and salt that actually is addicting. It's like the food becomes so good that you're addicted and you can't just eat one.

The problem with these types of foods, these preservatives and all these ingredients that aren't real food, is that it really affects our gastrointestinal tract. It creates all kinds of problems and can lead to leaky gut, food sensitivities, being tired, being unmotivated, being gassy, and just feeling not a hundred percent yourself.

So I suggest that you go into your pantry and take a look at what's in there. Things like potato chips and cookies and crackers and snacks and all kinds of things. Just look at the ingredients and you'll you'll know right away, whether this is something you want to continue eating or not. So pull that stuff out.

Then, look in your refrigerator. What kind of sweet cold delectable things are in there waiting for you to eat? And look in your freezer. I mean, creamy, wonderful ice cream, which is my downfall. Popsicles, other frozen goodies that are good once in a while, but not on a regular basis.

So look in your pantry, your fridge, your snack drawer at work, the stash you might have in your car, what's in the cupboard over the refrigerator, pull it all out and release it back into the wild if you will, at least out of your house.

Now, what are you going to do? Well, there's lots of food that you can eat as snacks or regular foods that will have a much better effect on your body, and will give you some actual nutrition. You will feel actually satisfied with it.

So nuts seeds, dried fruit, fresh fruit, and much more. For snacks, I would switch over to healthy snacks as much as you can. And I would include in there good quality chocolate, again, everything in moderation, right. A little bit is okay. A whole lot, not so good.

Then, think about the food that you eat on a regular basis. The best thing you can do for your body is to eat whole food prepared in your kitchen. And with a little bit of planning on what you're going to have, some clear grocery shopping lists, and a little bit of time, you can really create great meals in your home that are not that hard to make.

You can store them conveniently in Pyrex or something like that. And you can make that food as convenient as you can. Also, making it as healthy as you can! That's the best way to detox your body.

I hope that helps. I strongly encourage you: if you do go down this path, take small steps. One thing at a time. It won't work if you just try to throw everything out and start with something else. Just make it a gradual thing.

Happy detoxing!

And thank you so much for listening.
